Magical Road Trip, Part 2

...the perfect sandwich shop. I think we even remarked that we each got exactly what we wanted. Anyway. It was located right by this waterfall...

At around this time, Justine remembered that there was a nice lake somewhere in the vicinity where we could wade or kayak or hang out (but sadly not swim, since none of us brought bathing suits). So we drove still northward, and ended up in Kent. Which...I might not be the best a Connecticut geography, but Kent seems astoundingly far from Stamford.

There was not a cloud to be found...

...not even by a Williams student who intends to major in cloud-finding

On the way back home, we stopped here

Where I got this

And Liz got...

uh, well she got some other kind of Pop-Tart.

We also passed this lovely building, which at first we mistook for a Walmart, but un closer inspection was actually a freaking mega-church!!!

And I will leave you with this picture, which is just too awesome

Magical Road Trip, Part 1

So, before I begin, let me just say that these are probably only about a third of the pictures of the day, the rest are on Liz's camera and are much muuuuuuuch better quality. So if/when she gets around to uploading them I might feature a couple in these posts, but until then...I need to keep going!

Yesterday, due to a last-minute babysitting cancellation, Liz, Justine, and I drove up to New Milford to check out The Elephant's Trunk, the largest flea market in Connecticut.

We found many treasures...

I tried on some nifty shoes

We ate Italian Ices

And olive bread

My purchases were: a dress

earrings, a locket, and a faucet head (to be turned into a necklace?)

We wandered around the town on New Milford for a while, looking for a farm and then the perfect place to eat a sandwich. We also staged an impromtu photoshoot in the middle of a country road (Liz has all the pictures of this), where we came across a woman who was out for a walk. She gave us some helpful advice on why we should marry an army man (but not a navy man!) On a suggestion from another stranger, we drove 10 miles north, past farms and numerous biker gangs, until we found... (to be continued!)

What you do when you find out strawberry fields are not, in fact, forever...

Today, Kayla, Adena, and I drove to an orchard in Middlefield, CT and went raspberry picking.

On the way we stopped for iced coffee.

It was a gorgeous day and a gorgeous farm.

On the way back, we stopped at the farmer's market across the street and lunched by a lake.

We also stopped at Fashionista, a consignment shop in New Haven, where I bought this sexy little number.

(Just kidding, but I did get a headband and a pair of shoes)
